Osoyoos was the big winner in December with reports sales (dollar value) up 933%!December 2010 there was only 1 sale, December 2011 10 sales.However, for the year Osoyoos is about even on units sold but values continued to fall.
Overall, the big winner in 2011 has been Summerland giving a strong finish to 2011 with a 200% increase in the number of units sold over December 2010.This translated into a 295% increase in dollar value of properties sold.Summerland’s average sales price per unit dropped for the year 2%, which was greatly helped by the 32% increase for December 2011 over 2010.
Penticton’s prices have risen 4% for the year while sales have dropped by about the same.

This week there were 4 news sales (3 in Penticton and 1 in Summerland). The Average list price of those that sold was $297K and the average selling price was $285K or $320 per square foot. On the listings side, 5 new listings (4 in Penticton and 1 in Summerland). The average list price was $642K which is higher than usual because of at $1.895K new listing on Valleyview in Penticton.

Generally speaking, sales and listings are down BUT IT is certainly is a great time to buy!

This has become one of our favorite buffet restaurants in Penticton. This is a relatively new restaurant in the location of the former Pantry restaurant Skaha Lake Rd.The variety of dishes are amazing and always fresh and hot. The buffet is primarily good quality Chinese dishes but they always have traditional Canadian fare such as a whole turkey, prime rib, fried chicken, onion rings, and even perogies . Buffet has 2 soups, usually a hot and sour, and a wonton soup, several salad items, and some really good deserts such as cheese cake, nanaimo square, cakes, and a variety of tarts .They've even had sushi at times and the buffet includes a pop or ice tea. Senior rate is $13.98 and adult is $14.98. Service has always been good and you won't leave hungry. The restaurant is very clean as are the washrooms.Lots of light and plenty of booths for privacy. We've been here a half a dozen times now and haven't found anything worth complaining about.
